RH EXPANSION: 2024 AND BEYOND

Hi there! I’m Ryan Hocker, a Graphic Designer and Digital Marketer. I’ve spent years helping businesses with digital marketing services, and I’m excited to share that I’ve recently added branding and website development to my service offerings.

I’m passionate about helping businesses succeed and want to use all my skills to provide the best value possible for my clients. I created this blog to share a bit about my background, why I decided to expand my services, and what’s next for me.

RY HOCKER: A BRIEF HISTORY

After graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design in 2012, I landed my first job at a big apparel company in Seattle, WA called Prep Sportswear. I spent several years there designing apparel graphics, helping with innovative printing methods, and working on an interactive website for ordering custom gear.

Eventually, I decided to venture out on my own and start a freelance design business. This move gave me the creative freedom I craved and allowed me to continue growing in my career. Along the way, I became really interested in digital marketing and began learning all about the different ways to grow a business using online strategies.

THE DIGITAL MARKETING JOURNEY

Fast forward about 10 years, and I became the COO of a digital marketing agency in Reno, NV, specializing in SEO. It was an amazing experience where I learned all about digital marketing, managing clients, coordinating projects, and working with a specialized team.

There was a time when our agency didn’t have a website developer, so I decided to step in and learn the ropes myself. I had always been interested in website development, so I took on the challenge with full force, learning everything needed to create and manage websites. It was fantastic to be able to combine my design and marketing skills with web development! This made me a valuable asset to my clients and team members, giving me years of experience in website development.

Unfortunately, the marketing agency didn’t survive the COVID-19 pandemic, so I started my own freelance marketing business, specializing in digital marketing. I kept improving my website development skills and exploring all the ways I could help businesses succeed. Eventually, I felt confident enough in my abilities to expand my freelance business and offer even more to my clients: branding, websites, and digital marketing.

BRANDING, WEBSITES, AND MARKETING

After living in Reno, NV for about five years, I decided to move to Cedaredge, CO, to change my surroundings and get a fresh start with my new business direction. I realized that the best way I could help my clients was by offering all my skills and passions—branding identity, website design, and digital marketing. This comprehensive approach would address my clients’ needs beyond just digital marketing.
